About the Firm

Estate Planning Partners of Michigan focuses exclusively on estate planning and elder law.

Lansing Estate Planning Attorneys You Can Trust

Estate Planning Partners of Michigan, PLLC was founded by Suzanne and Vicki after years of seeing Lansing families face the same painful reality: they believed their estate plan was complete, only to discover—when it mattered most—that it failed.

Across Mid Michigan, many people turn to online estate plans, fill in the blank forms, or low cost, one size fits all solutions. Others work with firms whose primary practice isn’t estate planning, but who offer wills or trusts as a side service. These approaches may seem convenient, but estate planning is not a commodity—and it should never be treated like one.

As experienced estate planning attorneys serving Lansing and surrounding areas, Suzanne and Vicki have seen what happens when plans aren’t designed correctly: families spend six months to more than a year in Michigan probate court, incur thousands of dollars in legal fees and court costs, and lose control over decisions that should have been theirs. All of this often happens while loved ones are grieving.
That experience is why Estate Planning Partners of Michigan exists.

What makes our Lansing estate planning law firm different is reflected in our name—we don’t just prepare documents, we partner with you. Every estate plan we create is customized to your unique situation, your family, and your long term goals. There is no “one size fits all” estate plan, because no two families are the same.

Our tagline, “Put Your Trust in Us,” is more than a phrase—it is a promise.
• Trust that your Michigan estate plan will work when it is needed
• Trust that your wishes will be carried out exactly as intended
• Trust that your family will be protected from unnecessary probate, delays, and costs

At Estate Planning Partners of Michigan, we earn that trust through education, clear guidance, and thoughtful planning. Our mission is to help Lansing families protect what they’ve worked hard for, reduce uncertainty, and gain peace of mind—today and for generations to come.

Attorney Suzanne Morris

Attorney Suzanne Morris

Attorney Suzanne Morris has dedicated her career to helping individuals and families navigate complex legal issues with clarity, compassion, and foresight—especially when it comes to estate planning.

She graduated magna cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2004, where she earned multiple scholarships and honors, including Second Place in Moot Court Competition and the Jurisprudence Award (Best in Class) in Estates and Gift Taxation. From the very start of her legal career, estate planning was a clear focus and calling.

In October 2006, Attorney Morris accepted an position with the State of Michigan as an Administrative Law Judge, a role she held with distinction for many years. During her tenure, she presided over matters involving Medicaid eligibility, unemployment benefits, criminal proceedings, and retirement issues for state and public‑school employees. This experience gave her deep insight into how government systems work—and how critical proper planning is for protecting families and assets.

Even before becoming an attorney or judge, Suzanne worked as a Litigation Coordinator for a maximum‑security prison facility, managing all aspects of litigation. This early experience shaped her practical, no‑nonsense approach to legal problem‑solving and reinforced her belief that people are more than their mistakes.

If you meet Attorney Morris, a few things quickly become clear. She genuinely cares about people, believes strongly in second chances, and understands that life is complicated. She is also fiercely protective of her family. While building an accomplished legal career, she raised six children and one foster child, is married to a wonderfully supportive husband, and is the proud owner of five dogs—a fact that explains why she completed her Pet Trust before her own personal trust (yes, really).

Attorney Morris knew at an early age that she wanted to be an attorney, driven by a passion to help others. Time and experience have continually brought her back to estate planning, where she has seen firsthand how poor—or nonexistent—planning can tear families apart. Through both her professional work and her personal experience assisting with the probate of her mother‑in‑law’s estate, she understands how even modest planning can save families thousands of dollars, time, and emotional stress.

When she isn’t working, Suzanne enjoys reading a good book, crocheting, and watching documentaries—often with a dog or five close by.

Attorney Vicki L. Armstrong

Attorney Vicki L. Armstrong

Vicki L. Armstrong has built a long and accomplished career rooted in public service, law, and a genuine curiosity about people and their stories. Known for her sharp legal mind and approachable demeanor, she has a talent for putting people at ease—whether in a courtroom, an interview, or across a conference table.

Her professional path began in the United States Army, where she served as a Military Police Investigator in Bremerhaven, Germany. There, she supervised officers at crime scenes, worked closely with prosecutors, and trained new investigators in everything from evidence handling to interview techniques. It was an experience that shaped her practical approach to problem-solving and her commitment to fairness.

After her military service, Vicki continued in law enforcement as a Michigan State Trooper. She patrolled the busy Metro Detroit freeways, but her role went far beyond that. She trained hundreds of recruits in firearms, first aid, and report writing, and also served as a recruiter and background investigator—roles that spoke to her leadership skills and her ability to connect with others.

Vicki later turned her focus fully to the law. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University in 1989 and then went on to graduate cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2003. During law school, she stood out academically, earning honors, making the Dean’s List, and researched and wrote her own published work.

Early in her legal career, she gained valuable appellate experience as a law clerk with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office, where she wrote dozens of appellate briefs—many of which resulted in successful outcomes. She then worked as a prehearing attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals, researching cases and helping shape legal opinions in both civil and criminal matters.

From 2005 to 2008, Vicki ran her own private practice in Lansing, handling a wide range of cases including family, probate, criminal, and appellate law. The work was demanding and varied, requiring everything from client counseling to courtroom advocacy, and even traveling to meet clients in correctional facilities.

In 2009, she transitioned into government service, where she spent more than a decade handling a high volume of complex administrative cases involving the Department of Health and Human Services. Her work covered everything from Medicaid and disability matters, child welfare and licensing issues to unemployment appeals. She presided over hearings, ruled on motions, evaluated evidence, and issued detailed legal decisions—all while keeping up with an extensive body of laws, rules, and policies. It was a role that demanded both efficiency and deep legal expertise, and she handled it with both.

Outside of her professional life, Vicki shares a strong partnership with her wife, who works as a building inspector. Together, they share a love of travel—especially exploring destinations across Europe whenever they can. When she’s not working on trust-related legal matters, Vicki can often be found planning her next trip or diving into another passion: genealogy. With over ten years of experience researching family histories, she enjoys the challenge of tracking down ancestors and piecing together the stories of the past.

Whether she’s working through complex legal issues, traveling abroad, or digging into historical records, Vicki brings the same focus, curiosity, and dedication to everything she does.
